I can remember my first watch when I was a kid. I was in third grade and I saw this cool watch with the luminescent hands and indices, a slick black rubber strap and a red rotating bezel. I can remember always spinning the bezel and getting in problem because it made that ratcheting noise. I was probably 8 or 9 when I got my watch, but by that point I had learnt to tell time. But if you have a child that is younger and wants to be like mommy or daddy and wear a watch, there are watches that are designed to help a child learn how to tell time. These watches are childish in that they consolidate designs for young kids such as cars and trucks, tractors or flowery patterns. Each one labels the hour and limited hand so that it's easy to distinguish the two and helps them learn when to use past (as in 22 minutes past an hour) or to. These watches work great for children around the age of 5 or 6.
Toy Watches
Then there are the toy watches that are great for getting a child's imagination going. There are the troops styled camouflage watches that are great for boys (or girls) who want to pretend that they are in the army. There are the spy watches that have walkie talkies built in and let them reveal with their fellow spies up in the tree house. Or the fun Lego watches that look just like the Lego pieces that your child plays with everyday.
